1886 Whites Physiological Chromolithograph Folding Manikin Female & Male Anatomy

This RARE patented1886 & 1889 New and Improved Edition of White's Life-Size wood-framed standing (folds for storage and transport) multi-layered chromolithograph physiological manikin Published by James T. White & Co; Publishers, New York and London is in Excellent condition given its age. I have seen a few of these over the course of several decades in the antique business and this one is in far superior condition. The photographs primarily focus on areas where there are imperfections so there are no surprises when it is delivered but don't let them scare you - the overall condition is exceptional (again, given its age). These were used in medical schools to assist with lectures. There are multiple anatomical layers and both male and female body parts are included (you can see the male form in the first photo who is carrying a fetus!) so this is fun to play with - mixing and matching. The separate layers are held in place for display with metal tabs and some of these tabs are missing or broken (it wouldn't be difficult to devise patinated replacements that blend in if one is concerned about this). When standing this measures 24" wide x 69" high. When folded it measures 24" wide x 34-5/8" high. This will be sent by UPS and will be fully insured for your protection.
